I personally use the spot on treatment of ivermectin. Only ever have to use it once. It works quickly and easily.

I use ivermectin too. Definitely worth picking some up from the vets.

It might be a good idea to let the avian vet take a look just to make sure it is that! I know my local vet wont give you ivermectin unless he has seen the bird
