A New Addition To The Feathered Family

Featured Replies

This is a new addition to the family. I'd had my eye on her for a week or so before I lost Fluoro, at the local Pets Paridise at Broadmeadows. I knew I had to have her when she was still there on Saturday, as rough-looking as before.

She looked a little picked on, looks relatively healthy otherwise, but will stay in quarantine for a month anyway.

Who Couldn't Love This Face?

I believe her to be a YF Type 2, as she has blue underwings, and the only feather she lost whilst I was putting her in the cage was a cobalt blue colour (Though I can't hold her long enough to get a picture of that yet).

PS - "How did she get the name FeBi?" I hear you ask. . . . SHE BIT ME THROUGH THE BOX!!! :fear: Sooooo, she is a little Feisty Bi***!

She is gorgeous! She looks very cheeky :fear Love her name :(Laughing out loud):

She is a pretty little thing. She does look a bit thin and scruffed up good thing you are quarenting her. I am sure she is fine and needs love :fear Love how you got the name it is awesome.

Just as well for some of those less off birds that there are a few “softies” like you around. I wood never buy a bird that didn’t look healthy, sadly being so kind has a few risks, buying even healthy birds has health risks, like Elly said, good that you quarantined. That’s gratitude for you, after you did that for her, she turns around & bites you.

I bought a bird from a pet shop too yesterday, I will be glad when I have bought all the Mutations I want & don’t have to keep buying birds in, as it’s always a worry, especially when so many talk about disease problems they have on this site. I can’t go by a pet shop without looking, hoping to find that one bird I want. The one I bought is a rarer mutations [Lacewing] I only have one, a hen & this is a cock. I worry I might have wasted my money, as it was the only bird sold to them by this person, so I guess my chances that it’s a good bird are slim. Life is about taking risks.

Stunning bird! Her wing markings are fantastic. You can see that she would have blue underneath if she had full feathering. I hope that with a little TLC she improves and rewards you for your efforts.
