I have a ring colour sheet:

(as follows)

2003- RED

2004- BLUE

2005- PURPLE

2006-GOLD

2007-GREEN

2008-BLACK

(starts over)

2009-RED

Hope that helps someone :(

Also, the cost that I pay 37c for normal and 39c for coded (with my name on it).

The cost is for each ring.

Note: You MUST be in a budgie club to get rings.

Adam,

Is there absolutley no way you can get rings without being a member of a club? :D

you could steal them from someone :D (Laughing out loud)

you can buy rings from a supplier in the uk you dont have to be a member of a club

(Laughing out loud). I don't think I'll be commiting petty theft any time soon (Laughing out loud).

Pardon my lack of knowledge Hath, but what is a supplier, is it just like a pet store or is it a special business, specialising in birds? :D

the people over here who supply the clubs also sell to the public

Oh okay. Thanks

I was wondering, my Tabbi has a ring. but its purple and thats 2005. but i only got her a couple of months ago???? im in the U.S.A , whats up???????? :parrot: :bluebudgie:

has the ring got numbers on it or is it blank?

One of my birds has a purple-pink ring and he is a '99' bird. I don't know if your tabbi could be that old though

Oh okay. Well I don't think I'm going to rush out and join a club yet. Get a bit more experience first. Thanks.

Hey there,

I'm in New Zealand, and according to the NZ Federation of Cage Bird Clubs yearbook our ring colour cycle is as follows:

2000 - Green

2001 - Black

2002 - Red

2003 - Blue

2004 - Purple

2005 - Gold

2006 - Green again and so it goes on.

But our Budgerigar Society managed to order the wrong colour rings this past year (purple instead of blue) so we have had to get permission from the NZFCBC to switch the colours over for these 2 years!!! :)

I show my budgie, however I saw the breeder before they put the ring on her leg, and instead of ringing pip's leg they gave me the ring, now I show Pip, and if they want her to be wearing a ring I simply say that i find it cruel and show them the ring that i have

I edited this post because I spelt it wrong.

Also, do you know of anyone who supplies budgie rings hath? As i'm going to get some more.

you dont have to show the ring if its in the any age class but if you bred from your birds and wanted to show in young bird classes just showing the ring would not do and they would refuse your entry

ill find out where to get the rings from and post it later as i cant find it at the moment

I do the any age categorey, I don't show my younsters. Thank you Hath, you're a star
