Our Budgies

This little budgie is known as Whiskey, I think she is a girl, she's not very old but I recently had to handraise quite a few very young budgies after a breeder contacted me because his birds wouldn't feed their young. I bought Whiskey from the same breeder as a "hot water bottle" for the younger ones ( I have a brooder By The Way) and Whiskey also assisted with feeding them which was a bit of a surprise, but great when I was weaning them as Whiskey showed them all what to do and topped up the ones who were struggling.... 7 babies and they all survived!

Can anyone tel me what colour she is?

This next one is called Freebie, because he was... well... free

Not sure what you call his colouring either

I know this little girl is Albino, her name is Blackie

Whiskey is a girl budgie and she appears to be a cinnamon grey green and possible opaline ( a back shot will help )

Freebie seems to be a grey green recessive pied.

...and BLACKIE is a great name for a white albino :D

yep I love the name Blackie too :D

I thought Whisky a yellowface grey rather than a grey-green, but it could be just the flash washing out her body colour. I agree with Kaz with the rest.

Freebie might be a girl too with the look of the white rings.

As Nerwen says Whiskey could be a Yellowface grey :D Daylight photo would be good :P

Freebie is a Boy, the flash made those white rings unfortunately, I just had to run out and recheck... (Laughing out loud)

I'll get a daylight shot of Whiskey, including her back tomorrow and see if that helps

Gorgeous and when I saw Whiskey I was thinking more Yellowface too

look forward to more pics :D

I agree, I think Whiskey is an YF2 Opaline Cinnamon Grey…she was a great help to you while you were raising them other babies. I have noticed that young birds just weaned seems to be a great help to other newly weaned babies, as I see them feed others quite often in my aviary…I also agree the name Blackie is great for a White [Albino] bird…(Laughing out loud). Very obvious what else would you call her. :D
