Hi everyone,

I found this site the other day..... searching for info on Budgies and breeders etc

I have decided that i need another lil Budgie in my live after losing my pet galah a few months ago, i have had a very quiet house. :D

I use to own and breed budgies many many years ago (when i was a teen) but had to give them up due to traveling for work and finding my place in this world.

well after many years of working in Zoo's then dog pounds and shelters etc, i have settled in Melbourne with my OH, 2 dogs, 1 gold fish and a long neck turtle.

I now run and own my own pet care business and am also a wildlife shelter.

but that first lil budgie that started my love for these lil characters, has always been on my mind and now to feel i need a budgie in my life again. :P

my first budgie was a plain Jane blue cobalt, which was suppose to be a boy but ended up being a girl.....his or her name was Nigel (no friends as we used to call him).

she came every where with me and was the best lil bird i have ever owned (and there been a few since than).

well now i am ready to take one on again i am searching for a good breeder in Melbourne???

I am in the western suburbs but am willing to travel out to search for that perfect lil friend.

I would like a hand reared baby and am keen on blue, grey wing yelloface's, or pied.

At these stage i just want one, but i am keen to get into breeding again.

does any one know of any breeders around my area???

look forward to get to know you all and have found this forum to be full of great info......

arrr i have to refresh all my knowledge again :)

cheers Sammy

Hi Sammy and WECOME to the forum. Very happy to have you here :D I am sure someone on here from your area will point you in the right direction for yopur new budgie. This is a great forum. Friendly, and informative. We love photos here, so look forward to you showing off your first new budgie.

Cheers Karen

Welcome Sammy. I hope there is someone closer to you with an answer soon on where you could find a fun new friend.

It might be an idea to read up on introducing a new pet to the house thread and maybe how to sex a young budgie if you are after a male. There is help in our FAQ area or do a search for threads.

and welcome again :D

You can post in the Sale/Buying section for budgies, looking on petfinders, craigslist, in the paper or a rescue organization around in your area are other great ways to find the perfect budgie.

Welcome to our site ;)

Hi Sammy, Welcome :)

I am so sorry to hear of you recent loss of your pet galah, I can't imagine how quiet the house would be without birds, and budgies sure do bring so much joy and happiness to our lives :)

I would love to see some pics of your turtle if you have the time to post them in off topic!! I hope your budgie quest doesn't take you too long and you find your new feathered friend soon!

:ausb: Hi Sammy and welcome to the forum, I am sure you will find LOTS of interesting and informative information here not to mention all the GREAT pictures! :) Sorry for the loss of your galah. :( And maybe there is a budgie in your future. :dbb1:

Hi guys,

thanks for the warm welcome :P

i will see if i can get a good picture of my turtle, his name is "Snappy", he thinks he is one of those jumping crocs :D

thanks for the info......i am the type of person that likes to find the perfect pet to fit in to our family, and happy to wait till the right one comes along. I am not into impulse buying and am dead against pet shops that sell animals.

Would like to try and get a good standard Budgie that may be suitable for breeding and producing show quality types babies in the future.

cheers sam
