Thanks

Very interesting, the first one is a cock but can't work it out possibly a dominant Pied opaline grey. The second is a dominant pied spangle opaline yellowface light green cock.

Both are young birds.

Daz if they are a yellowface are they not of the blue series so how can they be a light green? The first one a grey diluted dominant pied, I don't see the opaline though? The second one yellowface type 2 spangle (I don't see the dominant pied or opaline)?these are just my opinion and of course can be changed :DI agree the top is a male the bottom with the flash on the cere not quite sure.

the seond

can't be green series as both parents are blue but perhaps YF2 recessive pied opaline spangle???

The trouble with trying to give these birds a handle,is they are breed from, birds

that have been breed by pet breeders.I have nothing against that. Its just when they

ask you to give them a breed. Its a bit like a xbreed dog. They have 56 varietys mixed

up in there. The budgies are the same.Dom pie xspangle x cinommon xclearwing x recessive pie,

& fellow for good measure. :D

PS just look at the post above. They can`t be green series.I rest my case,if there is not

green in there ,the yellow has ran through from the Y/F.

I agree with the others it’s difficult, no1 is some sort of Grey Pied, but maybe after the adult moult it will get more definition in it’s wing pattern, it may also have Spangle in it. No2 is an YF2 Dominate Pied, Opaline, Spangle, Blue, the Green is because of bleed into the body & wings from the YF2. It has the Blue patch on the stomach & probably on the rump [can’t be seen].

The first one has full grey colouring on the wings. Full colouring on the wings is caused by the opaline gene. If it was white with grey markings I would say Dilute but there is too much body colouring that is why I have said Opaline. I said Dominant pied because the body to me is patchyand there appears to me to be a hint of a head spot. I also said I am not sure as well.

Now the next one. The body markings look to be Banded in mauve (to me) as in Dominant pied. The Yellow face has clearly bleed into the top part of the body, Yellowface yes type 2, and the wing markings to me appear to be an opaline spangle.

Spangle Opaline Grey Green Hen

What was the parent?

Green is the wild gene so all birds can throw a green chick.

I thought they could only throw a green chick if they were in the green series Daz? I understand that the yellow bleed can cause green in the blue series but the bird is really a blue which is recessive and so they can't be carrying the green gene :fear.

Gotcha on all the other whys :budgiedance:

Whatever they are they are BEAUTIFUL!! :P:D

Can we have a picture of the parents please?

There marking look more recessive to me they both have the orange beek and the pink feet as well. I know they can change to the normal beek colour..

But I will say

1.. Grey Opaline recessive pied. ( I can see what you mean about the spot daz so could be dom.)

2.. YFT2 violet spangle recessive pied.
