Got My First Creamino:

Featured Replies

Posted

I paired up a Cinnamon Grey Green Dominant Pied hen, with a Light Green Opaline **** [father] he’s split for INO as he bred a Lutino with another hen. Both must be split for Blue as they produced a Blue in their first batch, he was also a YF so one must be masking YF… I suspect the mother. In this batch they have two Normal Greens, two Lutinos & the surprise YF Creamino. So as you can see one can get a few surprises from just two Green birds. :budgiedance:

I had planned to try & breed some YF Albinos, but it happened without even trying.

how wonderful, I can't wait to see pictures Norm

i had a similar experience years age when i had a YF2 cobalt to a opaline green and i normally got blue babbies but on day i checked the nestbox and got a suprised and saw a red eyed baby with my normal ones. it later left the box a yf albino only to moult into a limey green colour. it was a beautiful bird and now i'm trying to breed some myself ( most of my birds are yf2 and 2 female albinos so i'm hoping to get at least one. breeding a creamino has a better feeling than buying one but an even better feeling when you breed one and the parent birds dont show any signs of what they are carrying.

I love creamino's, i would love to see some photos. :)

As per request, first picture is of the full batch, this batch should help with my lack of female Budgies, this pairs first batch had 2 Grey Green Normals, 1 YF2 Blue Pied, 1 Grey Green Pied, all males.

This batch has 1 Grey Green Normal, 1 Opaline Grey, 2 Lutinos, 1 Creamino & 1 Opaline Grey green...the Grey Green Normal could be male, but all others have to be females, as sex linked colours from the father.

And the Creamino herself...sorry pictures not brillant, because of shade & light, was trying avoid flash.

picture size too big

what a little cuttie!! congrats on the surprise!

what Luck :) Don't you just love it when you get a surprise of the colour you where wanting :D

And now if you want more you have a known male with the ino gene.

I was planning on breeding yellow face albinos this year, had my albino cock bird and 3 yellow face grey normals already but decided to focus on certain lines that Greg wanted me to. BUt i did put down my sky blue cock split for albino with a yellow face hen, SO YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT CAN HAPPEN.

BUT Greg and I got a big surprise recently. We put down 2 grey green spangles which were split for blue, they had 3 babies. The oldest one a lovely big grey green normal, the second one a grey spangle which looks to be cinnamon because the grey is washy but it didn't didn't have the red eyes and the third was a double factor cinnamon white spangle.

We were very surprised as the chance of getting blue is very slim and we got 2 out 3.

So point is you just never know.

Yeah, I have a creamino that was given to me as the hen was attacking due to wanting to lay another round.

102_1709.jpg This is Squirt, and this is the only picture I have hosted at the moment, all the rest are on my computer at home. Will try to get some 'early days' pics, when he came to me all scrawny and with hardly any feathers. . .

What a rainbow of colours you have in that nest box! :) Gorgeous!

What a little cutie pie!! It's great when you get surprises isn't it. :)

Would love to see a picture of your DF Cinnamon white Spangle Splat.

My first picture, which was working alright before isn’t working now, [for me] but seems most have seen it, guess it’s just one of the bugs with the new system.

Oooh...naughty me, I see it exceeds the size limit...bad boy. Sorry.

Thanks for those pictures Splat, nice young-uns, that Grey Green looks like it’s got a nice head, not that I’m any show expert, but looks promising to me. How do you know that the DF White is Cinnamon, if it’s not showing it, did it have the redish eyes when real young, like mine? My one being the DF Yellow that I suspect of maybe being Lacewing in my other post. That now doesn't show any sign of Cinnamon, as yet, but had the Cinnamon type eyes when real young.

PS. Just a note to the moderators…like Marlony asked the other day, it seems that since the change it’s impossible to edit previous posts later on, if you wish to change something or notice errors. Is that being looked into?

You have 2 hours to edit a post before it is locked.

I love creaminos - especially if they are very pale.

The grey green is very promising Norm, and the cinn double factor was hatched with red eyes. Greg rang the breeder of the parents and the father is split for cinn. And yes he said it is a white cinn double factor spangle. She has the pinkest skin really bright like albino.
