Sittin Here With My Babies!

Awww. Well I took a shower and my babies just waited in the bathroom with me :( and I brought them down here by the computer with the breeding box. Waxy (the male) is being so funny. He is looking at things and going to check them out, he will fly across the room and then back, its cracks me up!! I love him!! and Butter (female) is just sitting up on the box chilling out listening to the music and chirping back and forth with me! and Waxy even went INSIDE the nesting box...(is that normal? for a male to go in the box?)

Aww. now he just came to the edge of the desk and if watching me type!!

This is really cool! I have been trying to get my birds more use to me for so long! Waxy is so curios! (Laughing out loud) Just thought I would share this with you.

P.S is it normal for the Male to in the box? What does it mean?

Glad your having a great time with your birds. Yes it's normal for males to go into the nest box, some do it more than others.

Are you looking to breed them? I can't remember if you were or not?

okay I saw your other post that about breeding them? I am not an expert but I don't think it is good to be moving the nest box about if they (or you) are going to breed them?

Okay, well I'm really not sure right now. I want to breed them but now Buttercups cere is starting to turn back to normal and not a brown anymore, so I don't know if they would breed anymore until Buttercup is "ready again" They just seem to really like thier nesting box. I will probably stop taking it out. Will they still breed? or will they wiat?

well giving a nesting box to a pair birds is the initiative they need to breed so moving it around to transport them, and watching them go in and out is cute to you but in reality is teasing the birds mentally. They are finding interest going in and out which means they are checking it out "possibly" to breed so if the birds are of breeding age (1 yr or older) and you are ready to take on the responsiblity of breeding it should be left in one place. (I don't mean to come over mean... - but to me it is like giving a baby candy and then taking it away) cute for us but mentally not good you know :).

Okay, I understand, I will stop moving it around. Usually when I see them in the nest I don't do much, if I see them when I look in my room, I usually just wait intil they are out when I go back in, so I don't disturb them. Thanks for all the info!
