Oat Grass?

Featured Replies

I have been on a number of sites and more often then not it talks about placing a potted grass in their cage. I would definatly like to know your opinion on this. I do grow oat grass but usually for the cats ( which they don't like anyways) but it looks nice. However is it safe for my girls?

I have bought the pet grass up at the pet store and Pretty and Merlin have loved the grass. I have even cut it and added to their veggie tray that way. As long as you know there is no pesticides on it and of course it is a safe this is an excellent way for them to also get nutrition.

You can also sprout your own grass from seeds and that is located in the FAQ section here on our site in food and nutrition.

The 1 thing about potted grass is it doesn't last long so when it looks like it is on it's last leg throw it out. I think my grass lasted almost a week and that was being prolonged in the frig at night.

Hope that helps.
