Posted July 11, 200717 yr I have 2 budgies sharing the same cage. My girls are veggie and fruit fanatics. I give them a variety of fresh produce about 3-5 times a day. I have never had to refresh it because it is gone with in the hour. They both prefer chunks of produce rather then shredded. Is there such thing as too much? Should I cut down or can I continue with there schedule? They do still eat there regular seed and pellet mix.
July 11, 200717 yr Sounds like you have dream budgies While most people struggle to get their budgies to just try a little veggies ....yours are doing all the right things. You are bound to be able to tell how good it is for them by their standard of health and weight. You are offering a wide variety of fresh food and seed etc, and they are "choosing" to eat what they like best. All sounds good to me. :hap:
July 11, 200717 yr I agree if they are eating it that is wonderful. You can provide pellets and seed which need to be part of their diet also during the afternoon and evening, while you can give them the veggies in the early AM and early PM. Welcome.
July 11, 200717 yr Author thanks, my girls have only started on fruits & veggies since they moved in together about 3 weeks now. But if there isn't anything in their *clip* they get very vocal. They do eat their seed and pellet diet through out the day as well but are more enthusiastic about eating their produce.
July 11, 200717 yr hmm...sounds your budiges are SUPER HEALTHY then. (Laughing out loud)...i wish my birds would do that.
July 13, 200717 yr Author they are definatly not starving or neglected! The girls make sure of that! if you aren;t talking to them they let you know!
