Posted July 11, 200718 yr Hello ppl, Mary here very worried about her baby blue budgie happy, yesterday i doscovered a section of his wing on top where it extends out that seem to be missing feathers as red raw skin is exposed and alot of yello puss is visible. I tried to clean it with salt water and more and more puss comes out alot for a litttle bird. He appears to be normal other than this and still can fly. I figure it is an infection of some sort any tips on what or how best to fix it? Thanking you in advance for any assitance. Cheers MAry and Happy :hap:
July 11, 200718 yr I am afraid I would be taking it to a vet for antibiotic injection or treatment as the infection seems to have got out of hand and is a deep seated infection. Blood poisoning could result in the loss of the bird in a very short space of time without help. Let us know how it goes :hap: Edited July 11, 200718 yr by **KAZ**
July 11, 200718 yr Absolutely, your baby budgie needs a vet ASAP an avian if possible to ensure this infection doesn't spread. I would look in the cage for any sharp toys, perches, corners or parts of the cage that could have resulted in this injury.
July 11, 200718 yr Could be an infected "in-grown" feather. A vet's the best option if you are at all worried, which you obviously are Good luck, KathyW.
July 12, 200718 yr :ausb: I agree with all these very wise budgie owners, vet consultation is required and treatment required, good luck! :oliveb:
