What Should I Add To My Cage

Featured Replies

Sorry Vegta I can't really see much in there from the light. Is that there for a reason? Heat or to help with the picture?

Why not tell us what is in the cage at the moment.

i cant see a natural wood perch. If there isnt one Id recommend getting one or two of those...

:) Sorry vegeta but all I can see is the light and birds do not like a bright light shone on them. Are they in a dark area? If so, that's your first concern, to get them into a nice location with lots of filtered light and good air flow. :D

Vegeta, why do you have a heat lamp on the birds ?

and do you have a temperature guage to tell you how warm it is in there ?

Are they sick ?

Is that why there is a heat lamp on in there.

Do you have a sunny place to put them near a window instead ? :D

**KAZ** i just have the heat light on them cuz there were the ones that was sick. thay are doing good so i guess i could take off the heat light if you think i should. i was just told to have it on the cage on the one side of the cage.

If they are better, do you have a place near a window in the sun, that they can be ?

there in the best place that i can put them to get the sun but the way or home is it is hard to get them in the sun. the sun is more on the lift side of me but my door is on that side also the dining room, and all thows other rooms i can not put the birds in. it is the same in all the rooms.

:D vegeta, did we not discuss a few weeks ago you cutting down on pets and definitely NOT breeding as you do not have the funds or means to get them Vet assistance? Putting a heat lamp on birds does not make sense without other therapy in place. When you are an adult, have your own residence and a well paying job, feel free to get as many pets as you can afford. But as discussed before, for the health of your birds and animals, please give them to others who can better take care of them, that would be the greatest love and respect of all! :)

You need to put your have your bird cages & birds in a well lite room. They need light just like all creatures to survive along with the sun for Vitamin D.

The perches I would take out and put in all natural ones and put them in the cage longwise so they can fly back and forth. Keep the perches close to the sides. You can put a couple perches across maybe one up high and a couple down lower. So example the one on the side is okay but the one directly in the middle take out so they can use that for flying room. Add some spiral rope perches etc...

You may want to add some preening toys there are a lot out there so you can encourage mental stimulation.

Make sure the food and water is not located under any perches. Also that it change daily.

This is an ideal cage for budgies with some improvement and taking the advice of those on the forum you will find your budgies to be happier and healthier. Having them in dark corner or room is one reason why you probably found them sick.
