June 26, 200718 yr Author Oh good, I will speak to the vet about adding them to the water. I think it would do him a lot of good especially as he is a little run down now. I wonder when I could start adding back the veg.? I haven't given him any fruit or veg. as I thought it best to wait until his tummy was okay. He has had normal poops all day and he has not had another vomiting attack, so I think it should be safe? I wonder which veg/fruit is the most easily digested, just to start with? Although he has got very picky of late and only wants red chard and/or kiwi fruit. Do you thing these two would be okay to start with? Luv Vonn

Vonn, Just a suggestion - when you DO start introducing other foods into his diet do so only ONE type at a time. I may be way off mark here but he *may* have developed a food intolerance to something. Keep his diet really plain for a while and introduce new things slowly, watching for any change in behaviour or droppings. Just a thought, KathyW.
June 27, 200718 yr great advice and plain yogurt if he will eat it is a great source of good bacteria for his tummy but small amounts since it is diary.
June 27, 200718 yr Author I had never considered a food intolerance, Kathy, thanks for bringing that to my attention - I will keep an eye on how he reacts to each food. It might be the problem. I didn't realise I could give him yogurt, Elly. I could try a little and see if he likes it. He is having the probiotics in his water and seems to be happy to drink the water with this added. He seems back to normal today. He is still trying out the squawking now and then, but soon stops when he gets ignored. Thanks again, guys. Luv Vonn
June 27, 200718 yr Hi Vonn, starting Lukie back on vegies is fine now. The main reason for not feeding them while they are on antibiotics is because they can get all the moisture they need from the greens and therefore won't need to drink as much of their medicated water. He will probably love you for it. A little of the probiotics could be added to the mix after you have washed them so that he is still getting the good bacteria he needs to settle his little tum. Feathers.
June 27, 200718 yr Author Thanks for that feathers. Good idea putting some of the probiotics onto the veg. Luv Vonn I have solved the mystery of why Lukie was flying at my face! I was putting some makeup on at the time and had a mirror in my hand. He must have thought I was interacting with another budgie in the mirror and did not like that at all!! He chats to 'the budgie' in his mirror so assumed I was looking at a budgie, too. We worked it out tonight as I had just picked up my mirror to touch up my blusher and he did the same thing. My husband then said he thought it was about me looking in the mirror. So he took the mirror and pretended to look into it and Lukie flew at him too, making his little 'I don't like this' tweet. Then we realised what it was all about! So, he doesn't like the idea of us looking at 'another budgie' instead of him. What a little character! Luv Vonn Not sure why the last reply was added on to the previous one?! Must have pushed a wrong button. Vonn ????
June 28, 200718 yr Sounds like he could be on the mend. Good luck, he certainly sounds like a real little character! Cheers, KathyW.
