Posted June 15, 200717 yr I have read various posts saying the only way to get rings is through a club. A number of clubs and associations I've been involved with in the past have had some very nasty politics to the point where I am not keen on getting involved in the club scene at all. However I want to ring my birds for easier identification of age and record keeping. Surely there must be some sort of generic ring available? Does not need to be engraved if colour coded (kinder on my eyes too - they can't read the small stuff as easily as they used to ...) Any suggestions appreciated. Cheers, KathyW.
June 15, 200717 yr KathyW you should be able to get some from the pet store. They can be numbered 1, 2, 3, 4.... so on. But not official bands. Or you could try to ring Chapman Rings and see if they will make a special set of rings for you. Chapmans are the official ring makers to the ANBC
June 15, 200717 yr Yes before I joined a club I bought rings from pet stores which were differnt coloured plastic ones and Shepp has a bird club for all types of birds I think it is called the Goulburn Valley bird club and I do think that Albury has the same type of club, so if you can find that out they do sell rings to non members (plastic coloured and metal coloured.
