My hen has tapeworms and she is mothering 3 beautiful baby budgies. Will she pass over the disease? How do I get rid of it? It's so long it is as long as her whole tail.

105,In your other thread you said you can`t reach the nest box.Now you say the hen has tape worm. Then you say no she has`nt,What did you see that you thought it was a tape worm.

 

PS I think you better, find away of getting to that nest box.

I agree how would you know if you can't see what is going on ?

You need to have this diagnosised by an avian vet but taking in a sample of her poo to ensure she really has tapeworm and not somthing us. If you can not clean out the nesting box as in your other post and IF it is tapeworm they probably all have it and all need to be treated by an avian vet.

 

You can call them and they will probably let you bring in a sample as not to disturb the babies and mother.

 

You never mentioned the cock bird? Is he around helping the mom?
