It has been a while since I added any new pics. My breeding pairs are getting all the shots, so I thought after cleaning out the aviary, and adding new branches (the only good thing about Sydney's recent weather), I took some photos to showcase my little ones.

First are some pics of the aviary to show the set up.

As you can see, plenty of new leaves and vegetables were added today.

As for the birds,

Juliet

Hugo - the youngest member in the aviary

Sunshine - refusing to look pretty for a photo

Sherbert - an absolute stunner

Humphrey - the king of the aviary and Brewster - the latest addition (who is curretnly trialling for the position of Queen)

:D Beautiful birds and lovely aviary!

Dave, it is looking great in there. I need some natural vegatation for my birds too, but the bleedin' council has trimmed all the peppermint street trees in the area, and being in a wheelchair, they are all way too high overhead for me to reach now :ausb:

Feathers.

ps: before the birds I would whinge if they needed to be trimmed :)

I love the way your aviary has so many natural affects and natural branches in it gorgeous :). I love pieds and Hugo is so handsome :)

Funny story with Hugo. Growing up I had birds at my Dad's place, and my mother never was into birds (parents were split up). Anyway, since I got the aviary, every family member has wanted some input. My mother started ringing up to check on the birds, not me - (Laughing out loud). One day she called me from a hooby market she was at, saying she had just seen an amazing bird and she loved it. I explained it was not a good time to buy it then, and so she did not. We went back a month later and she bought and then named Hugo. When she comes over she talks to him.

I use the budgies with my nephews (7 and 4) to get them to eat their dinner. We play games like "one spoon, and then you can guess the name and colour of one budgie". Works well as there are 12 budgies.

My sister and her boys dropped in the other day just to see the babies. My budgies have become a family affair, and Hugo is the best example of it.

I agree with you though Elly - he is a beautiful bird.
