Posted June 8, 200718 yr I am getting some cresteds and I want to get yellow face blues. What should I use. I asked for a yellowface blue male crested and a normal blue crestbred what will that be.
June 8, 200718 yr CB,The chances of a Y/F crested might not be that easy to come by. The crested birds are not in that big of supply.Be carefull when buying crest bred, there is no way of knowing if it is crest breed. If I was you I would, just buy a crested & mate it to a normal & breed your own. Then you know, what you are useing. Now there are crest birds & there are CREST BIRDS,Its not hard to breed crest birds. But it is hard to breed any with a bit of size about them.If you want to breed them the size of a finch. To buy one of any size, you would be looking at about $100.00. Small ones perhaps $25.00. Edited June 10, 200718 yr by Daz
June 10, 200718 yr Crested are not that common as Macka says.. We call them flat tops in the "Trade" not to be unkind but that is a common name for them. We have a crested breeder in our club and I hear it's not that easy to breed. Macka is right, if you can get a created and breed to a good normal and then take it from there.
