Posted June 3, 200718 yr I dont know if this is in the right section so you guys can move it. Anyway my budgie, Emjay started biting me a lot in the last couple of weeks. for example if I put my finger in front of him he bites me, pulls himself up and then puts his feet on my finger. He is not biting me because he is scared just because he likes to bite me, and then pull himself up. And he does bite pretty hard so... Any tips would be appreciated. June 3, 200718 yr Marlon, birdy time out, he needs to learn that it is not acceptable. You are basically rewarding him by letting him step up after biting you. When he does it you need to gently push his beak away and say no, then take your hand away so that he can't step up. After a little time out try to get him to step up again, repeat it every time he does the wrong thing. Only when he doesn't bite should you let him step up. Make sure that when you are getting him to step up you keep your hand low so that it is harder for him to bite as well. Feathers. Edited June 3, 200718 yr by feathers
