Posted May 26, 200718 yr I wanted to show you this Cinnamon Grey cock I bred, from one of my best pairs. To me it looked strange; I think the reason is that it’s a very Buff bird. I started reading on sites about Buff & wondered what it was, as I had, had Budgies years ago & never heard about it. I knew from breeding Canaries what it maybe, as they always talk about Buff or Non Buff…or Intense or Non Intense…Yellow or Apricot. Mostly you pair one of each type together, not two the same, unless for some special reason, like increasing the bulk of feathers. In Budgies I have read, that by pairing Buff to Buff that’s when you have the chances of getting Feather Dusters. The two Grey Green birds pictured with this Cinnamon Grey are some of its brothers. I bred 13 birds from two batches, from the parents of these birds, only one or two turned out like this bird. It never seems to be tidy & never tight feathered & its feathers seem to damage very easy, especially its tail, as you might notice in this picture. It is just now into its first adult moult. I was at first worried about this bird, but it is a very active bird, despite its sloppy appearance. What are your thoughts on this bird thanks.
May 27, 200718 yr Norm, it is a lovely budgie. I would be very happy to have himin my aviary. The buff birds, as you can see from this photo, blow really well and have great head feather. One of the birds I bought yesterday had a brother who was a feather duster. Feathers.
May 27, 200718 yr I wanted to say what a gorgeous bird, I don't know much about buffs so I am not going to comment. He is very handsome!
May 27, 200718 yr Author Thanks guys I’m hoping I will get some comments from someone that can give me more information on Buffs & what the pairing recommendations are.

BUFF TALK ON THIS FORUM Also found this On a web page The bird is less active and breeding buff to buff purportedly generates fewer chicks per nest, although some refute this. May 28, 200718 yr Thanks guys I’m hoping I will get some comments from someone that can give me more information on Buffs & what the pairing recommendations are. From what I have been told, buff to buff may well enhance your chances of...pulpitis, feather cysts and feather dusters. Edited May 28, 200718 yr by Kaz
