Posted May 26, 200718 yr hello all, i went out to the aviary and found this little guy stiff on the floor with some feathers missing on his head, thinking he was dead i started wrapping him in tissue, it moved. im thinking the warmth from my hands must have revived him.any way i put him next to the fire and he started coming round so i gave him a feed and is doing fine. he is a very lucky bird any longer and i wouldnt have him. i will keep you all posted. cheers stacey
May 26, 200718 yr Stacey, I hope he recovers. Very lucky little guy to be found when you did. Feathers.
May 26, 200718 yr If you have another pair feeding young of about the same age. They might foster it,or you will have to hand feed it I would think.
May 26, 200718 yr morning all. the little guy didnt make it  i was going to put him in with the other mum but she has her hands full trying to stop the other mum feeding her tribe of five. (she had six but one of my baby pieds died it had yellow wings with black markings)any way after both mums chicks have fledged there will not b any more babies for a while. each hen started out with 7 eggs each well now they only have five bubs each. when babys have fledged ill post a picture of them. cheers stacey
May 27, 200718 yr I;m really sorry to hear that you lost him, Stacey. Maybe, when you are ready to breed again you should try closed breeding, which will stop the problems of other hens interfering. Fly on little one. Feathers.
