Pudgie Budgies

I was photographing my feathered family recently (waiting for them to do something cute so I could snap them up for the June Budgie of the Month comp!) and I noticed they all seem to be a liitle bit more "cuddly" than they probably should be ...

Take a look:

Here's the baby of the family: CinnamonPrincessShazza (7 months)

My old girl Charlie, who's 6 or 7 years old:

The boys: Flash (3 years) and his son Petey (9 months)

They get plenty of exercise so I think it must be my overly generous nature when it comes to the millet and hulled oats :P

But look at this beautiful face - how can I say no to that ?!PrincessShazzaCloseupCustom.jpg

Beautiful birds and lovely photos. Re the diet...hulled oats are fattening as is millet in quantities. Try the birds on finch mix or canary mix for awhile . It is okay for budgies to have some weight on with winter months, and I always up the quota of oats for winter conditioning. :P

Leanne they are beautiful. I think a little extra weight in winter helps them to deal with the colder conditions too. I couldn't resist that beautiful face either :P

Glad to hear they're in okay shape for winter and I'm not on the way to killing my birds with kindness

Now if only I could justify my own "winter conditioning" !

There is no way I could resist those faces.

great photos,thanks for sharing.

What cute and pretty budgies you have there!
