blues and grays, dominant pieds (if that is the edge of a spot I see) also if Big boy is part of the 'odd' spangle family then spangles as well

My first thoughts are how did you get Bib Boy from those parents, he looks like a Cinnamon to me. His mother looks like DF Spangle to me, could she be masking Cinnamon? If she is masking Cinnamon & Dad is split for Cinnamon, you could have got a Cinnamon cock. Also where did the Pied come from, unless his mother was masking Dominant Pied also, or both parents Recessive pied? But he looks more like Domiant Pied, to me. I think White birds even DF Spangles can mask lots of things.

Also if Big Boys Mum is DF Spangle & Dad is a Spangle [which I think, I may be wrong] shouldn’t Big Boy be a Spangle? Nerwen can you explain what you mean by the ’odd’ Spangle family, I’m not sure I know what that is?

I agree with Nerwen, Blues & Greys & if Big Boy is Cinnamon, Cinnamon hens, & if he’s Spangle, Spangles also. Dominant Pieds & if Big Boy is split for Opaline, which seems very common these days, some Opalines of both sexes. And of course any Recessive traits both may be carrying [split] surprises.

Big boy doesn't look cinnamon too me (but then my monitor has been said to be playing tricks on me (Laughing out loud)) anyone else? what do you think

 

do you think he is pied because he looks like he has the pied spot? Is that a pied spot or the light or the spot that people are saying show the bird is split to recessive pied?

 

Your right about if both parents are spangled and 1 is a DF spangle Big Boy should be spangle that is odd.

Big Boy is a Cinnamon Clearflight Dominant Pied Violet (what a mouthful!).

Daz bought a full sister of Big Boy off me & she begat Melanistic Spangle.

Nerwen I believe has either the sister Daz got off me or the offspring.

Big Boys mum is a white DEC which I think means she can hide certain things (don't know what).

It took about a year to finally find out what big boy is.

Yes Elly I was meaning Melanistic Spangle I was lazy before in typing it all out.

 

From the Sister Daz brought I got two of the offsprings (from eggs ) Minka and Czar.

 

Big Boy is a Cinnamon Clearflight Dominant Pied Violet + Melanistic Spangle

 

That spangle in the offspring proves he has the spangle gene (if I remember Grayson being a grey normal correctly)

 

Big Boy' dad does seem to have spangle markings BUT the flights and tail do not match. Big Boy's mum has an iris ring and so not DEC but would have to be DF spangle.

Does Big Boy's back & tail show the typical Melanistic Spangle markings, as it's difficult to see in that picture?
