May 25, 200717 yr Author Wow Karen.............what beaut birds.........did you get them all from the same breeder??? Yes, Paul. The same breeder All you have to do now Kaz,is to mate them to the right partner & could see some at the WA National next year. Thats right, Macka. I have been learning a lot about pairings lately. You never stop learning with exhibition budgies, do you ? Congratulations Kaz they are all very beautifulI remember a time when you had too much blue and needed more green :budgiedance: Yes...the difference was those blue ones I had were pet size budgies, not show size
May 25, 200717 yr yep, right when she started they told her she needed more greens I remember :budgiedance: Why would they tell you that you needed more green? If you don't want green birds why have them?
May 25, 200717 yr yep, right when she started they told her she needed more greens I remember Why would they tell you that you needed more green? If you don't want green birds why have them? lady, we all know you love the blue series!! :budgiedance:
May 25, 200717 yr the green I believe takes you back to the basic budgie, it is very favored in the show ring, along with strong points. I am sure there is more and Kaz or another shower will come and enhance my answer :budgiedance:.
May 25, 200717 yr They are so gorgeous. I love the yellow face ones. And the greywings are beautiful too. Heck! They all are.
May 25, 200717 yr Yeah great birds, our local club is having a sale in just over a week, I hope to get as lucky as you & pick up some nice birds.
May 26, 200717 yr Author yep, right when she started they told her she needed more greens I remember :hap: Why would they tell you that you needed more green? If you don't want green birds why have them? Nobody told anyone I needed more greens :hap: It just so happens that some people on here said I didnt have many green series birds awhile back. When I got into show budgies, it was said that the size and type of the bird was more important than colour and that is where all the green birds comes in. It is easier to get green series show type birds than blue. the green I believe takes you back to the basic budgie, it is very favored in the show ring, along with strong points. I am sure there is more and Kaz or another shower will come and enhance my answer :hap:. Not exactly. Green being a dominant colour type....you end up with greens more easily when breeding show types. In show birds, it is all about size and type not colour as much. Getting the shape of the bird and its feather condition right is paramount over colour. There are just more green birds available to us than blue. Right now it is very hard to get blue series birds of a decent size in show type. Edited May 26, 200717 yr by Kaz
