Posted May 24, 200718 yr Hey! I'm thinking of getting this cage, what do all of you think? http://montreal.kijiji.ca/c-ViewAdLargeIma.../5a/419c_18.JPG let me know :budgiedance:
May 24, 200718 yr Author yeah i know, this is the widest one I've found so far. I'm still searching but yeah
May 24, 200718 yr It ia a lovely cage, but a budgie needs alonger cage rather than higher one keep looking, have you thought of making one. I am very handy and have made all my breeding, hospital and carry cages also bought show kits and made them. Some pet shops sell wire fronts. Or you could use would and wire mesh, But then if you want it for inside a full wire bought one would look more attractive I quess. Just a thought. :budgiedance:
May 24, 200718 yr it is a gorgeous cage, what are the dimension on it? It may seem taller then it really is and it looks quite wide. Also make sure the space bars are only a 1/2 inch. :budgiedance:
May 24, 200718 yr That cage looks great. It seems pretty wide as well as tall. Bar width looks ideal too. It also looks like you could divide top and bottom sections to provide two cages if necessary.....assuming it has doors top and bottom. What are the dimensions ? Edited May 24, 200718 yr by Kaz
May 24, 200718 yr Author Dimensions are: 39" X 23.5" X 69" I'm surprised by some of the replies. I actually thought it was fairly big and wide and all that jazz. I have enough room to fit something much wider but it seems almost impossible to find something wider... at least in my area. Also Splat... hehe, nope I'm not that handy... at all hehe.
May 24, 200718 yr The cage is excellent. Some people may not have been able to guage size properly until you posted the dimensions Edited May 24, 200718 yr by Kaz
May 24, 200718 yr Author The cage is excellent. Some people may not have been able to guage size properly until you posted the dimensions Thanks. I'm going to continue to browse, but I really do like the looks of it. It seemed huge to me and it's hard to find anything at a decent price in petstores. Edited May 24, 200718 yr by Kaz
May 24, 200718 yr I personally think that this is perfect!! I have seen similar cage and I think that they are a good size.. I think with the width of it, may be it just seems small to people as they dont know the dimentions.. the only thing with this cage though... I wouldn't buy it because of the 'roof' part.. it doesn't allow space to hang things as there's nothing there unless of course you did what Feathers did with hers... put wires on top rather than the roof that came with it. Good luck with finding the right cage.
May 24, 200718 yr I've seen cages like this in my area too and I was tempted to get one. I think it is a great cage for budgies! Good luck with your looking.
May 24, 200718 yr That cage is okay. Its not like you are going to put a dozen or so in there, are you,. :feedbirds:
May 24, 200718 yr I dont know how much you would pay for a nice cage but this is the cage i will buy next year. http://www.birdcagemart.com/Flight_and_Avi...r_64_x21_2.html It comes with a divider and it is very long. Which means it can be one very long cage or 2 still pretty long cages. I like the cage you got tooo!! Its your choice. Edited May 24, 200718 yr by Marlony
May 25, 200718 yr Steph, that is a fantastic cage, I have one just like it. I didn't put the roof part on though, instead it put bird wire over the top of it, as Cheeta said above. That way it was more useful as I was able to hang swings and toys from the top. You could also wire the top and then put the roof back on, but as mine was indoors, I didn't bother. Feathers.
May 25, 200718 yr now, when I see it like that, it looks fabolous. Edited May 25, 200718 yr by Marlony

Where did you get the birdwire from? I think it's a great idea. The roof part was the only thing I didn't like
May 27, 200718 yr From Bunnings, a local hardware store. Bird shops would have it too. I also just attached it with heaps of thick plastic zippy ties (cable ties), which was only meant to be a quick temporary fix, but it is still going strong and I have never needed to change it. Feathers.
