Hi, this is my young Yellow Face Opaline Hen, Type 1 think as she has no yellow running through her wings etc. She is a good size bird for hen.

I think she might be a bit over weight too,you would need to mate her to boof headed cock bird.

Hi Elly here is a picture of her back it's the best I could do with her flying about. Her v isn't realy that good

She is solid but she is only a medium size bird, she has been that way in size since she was born, she isn't fat just solid her head looks much bigger and better when she rolls her head. She came second in the show in the yellow face class against several other birds and the one that won was bigger and it took out the novice champ of the show. The judge said that the first and second which was mine were two top quality birds, but the other one was in better condition in the way molt etc. But I do agree as my partner said she is a little narrow in the head. We have a cock bird here that is post on here somewhere under 4 new birds for my breeding room.Well I am going to put him over this bird because he has a huge head and long bib.

He is a Dark Green Spangle.

BUT i do not want to breed yellow face spangles because the yellow tends to run through the wings and tail and the judges do not like them much.

 

I LOVE her colouring Splat. She is a big and stocky bird. She appears in some photos to have what is called in the show world a "pinched head" but with the right partner she should do good things for your breeding.

Yes I think she is lovely, she has always been special but there is plenty of room for improvement, I will be putting down in about 3 weeks, I will post info on babies as they come. At the moment I have to wait because I saw my pied mate her the other day so I had to seperate them. I have put the girls in one avairy and the boys in the other.
