How Long After Mating Does An Egg Show Up?

Approximately how long after mating does a little egg show up?

I've tried to check for it on the web and came out with a huge range of answers.

Of course, I figured someone here would know best.

thanks

In most cases if you put a pair in the breeding cage & they are in condition, you will get eggs in 10 to 14 days. Sometimes birds will mate the day they are put together, so in that case mostly they need a minimum of 10 days for something to happen, but if they have been together some time & mating is happing often, I think you wont have to wait more than a few days. Usually you will see some swelling around the vent, under the tail, 2 or 3 days before the eggs arrives.

thank you :rip:

there is already some swelling around the vent area.

I suppose eggs should come soon.

i aksed that question before. I think I was told 10 days but start to check after 8 days, not too much before because then the female doesn't feel safe.

I will definitely give updates :)

Yeah I won't be disturbing her too much, but she's pretty tame and doesn't feel at all threatened by me. But either way, I try not to disturb her too much in anyway.

I'm so excited!!!
