Posted May 21, 200718 yr I've got my cinnamon dominant pied violet male (parents DEC white dam & spangle green sire) in with a dark gray hen (parents white DEC dam & cobalt sire) and they have 2 eggs! What could I expect in the nest? Male I don't have a picture of the female - will try on the weekend. Edited May 21, 200718 yr by karen
May 21, 200718 yr beautiful baby budgies.. I have a headache and won't even begin to work it out right now I've already opted out of a silly quiz tonight... You are probably confusing people with your dam and sire's as those terms don't relate to birds. For anyone confused dam is a hen and sire is a cock. Feathers.
May 21, 200718 yr thats assuming the male is single factor violet + single factor dominant pied and the female single factor grey. 1.0 is male, 0.1 female. 12.5% 1.0 grey(sf) blue /cinnamon 12.5% 1.0 grey(sf) blue (Aus)pied(sf) /cinnamon 12.5% 1.0 grey(sf) blue violet(sf) /cinnamon 12.5% 1.0 grey(sf) blue violet(sf) (Aus)pied(sf) /cinnamon 12.5% 1.0 blue /cinnamon 12.5% 1.0 blue (Aus)pied(sf) /cinnamon 12.5% 1.0 blue violet(sf) /cinnamon 12.5% 1.0 blue violet(sf) (Aus)pied(sf) /cinnamon % from all 0.1 12.5% 0.1 grey(sf) blue cinnamon 12.5% 0.1 grey(sf) blue (Aus)pied(sf) cinnamon 12.5% 0.1 grey(sf) blue violet(sf) cinnamon 12.5% 0.1 grey(sf) blue violet(sf) (Aus)pied(sf) cinnamon 12.5% 0.1 blue cinnamon 12.5% 0.1 blue (Aus)pied(sf) cinnamon 12.5% 0.1 blue violet(sf) cinnamon 12.5% 0.1 blue violet(sf) (Aus)pied(sf) cinnamon just so you know, i didnt do it my self. May 21, 200718 yr When you can karen can you please put picture up of your hen.. I want to see her colour..
May 21, 200718 yr Marlony... You can't get green bird of any sort if you have blue and grey parents!!! and you cannot be split for DEC.
May 21, 200718 yr oh wait let me try again. As I said I didnt do it my self, I used a Genetic Calculator. okay I corrected my post. It should be right now. Edited May 22, 200718 yr by Kaz
May 21, 200718 yr You could get any of the blue series young…sky blue, cobalt & maybe violet. Greys. Some Cinnamon hens, dominant pieds, Recessive pieds & clearflights. The cock maybe a clear flight, as I only can see a white tail, he doesn’t have clear flights, but he could still be genetically a Clearflight that hasn’t got the clear flights. DEC has recessive pied & Clearflight. I’m not totally sure but I think both the cinnamon & recessive pieds have a 25% chance & any other recessive character they are masking.
