We had our Club Preselections today.. It was great to see nerwen there.

Have have three birds representing my club in tomorrows Interclub Challenge (Regional Preselections for the Australian Nationals). If they place tomorrow they will be going to Adelaide on Friday to compete in the Nationals.

I am happy that at this stage in my hobbie (novice) that I can represent my club. That in it's self is a great honour.

Good on you Daz,3 going to the inter club tomorrow.Best of luck. :feedbirds:

Wow...that is so excellent, Daz. All your hard work and knowledge is starting to pay off. Best of luck in the selections.

Thanks guys.. As far as I'm conserned I have won. At my stage as a novice, tomorrow will be a bonus. I have beaten the open breaders to be selected...and the great thing is they have succeeded in helping me get there. Isn't that what's it all about in a club.

Congratulations Daz, go the BBC breeders! :) I am quite certain that Kaz will be joining in with the successes next year. Waiting for your news, Macka :)

Feathers.

edit: it is quite a shame that WA's selections are being held on a Sunday as this puts out at least 3 breeders who won't be putting up their birds as they are christians and sunday is their day of worship.

It was fun. I can't make today to see ALL the birds from SEQ area. But it was great to see all/most of the club birds and talk more with the members :)

Feathers - could they have asked a fellow member to take their birds?

Well my birds didn't get through but I'm not disapointed. The Big News is that My Club Pine Rivers has won the Interclub Selection Challenge for the first time. Pine Rivers has 20 birds representing the region in Adelaide next weekend.

So Nerwen you did see the best in the region yesterday. :)

I was e-talking to a club member on Friday and he said this..

I don't do any competitive showing on Sunday's, It's our day of worship. I would like to but I still need to convince myself I would be doing the right thing. After all I am not in budgies to win any personal accolades but only for the love of breeding and caring for these birds of mine.

For quite a few breeders, including myself, it is all about the birds, not the accolades.
