Which Boy?

I can't choose who to breed Twinkie with! I have Yodel and Bingle to chose from... I would like to breed some budgies to start out in the local shows. :D

Twinkie is on the right, Bingle is in the middle and Yodel is on the end.

Here is another Picture of Yodel (I caught him mid fluff so excuse the 'poof' look):

And one of Bingle:

So who do you think would complement her best?

They are both cute but i would choose Bingle

Twinkie is a yellowface (Possibly Parblue) Spangle.

Bingle is a Spangle Skyblue

Yodel is a Yellowface opaline Skyblue

Twinkie to Bingle will give you 25% DF Spangle 50% SF Spangle and 25% Normals. (My Choice)

Twinkie to Yodel will give Opaline Hens in Normal and Spangle and Spangle and Normal Cocks all split to Opaline.

All chicks from both pairings should be yellow face and blue series or split to blue. Any Green chicks would probibly be masking yellowface.

Err I think Twinkie and Bingle will give you NOTHING. To me Bingle looks male as well!

Yodel look like a nice match.

Bingle and Yodel are the boys, Twinkie is the hen?... :)

Daz, What is parblue? With Twinkie we never could decide is she was a normal green spangle or goldenfaced blue.

What colour are the feathers under her wings? (in her armpits as such!!)

Green or blue?

Green under her wings, but she has some blue around her tail. She isn't a rich green though, next to a green she doesn't look right. :)

 yes Bingle looks like a cock to me too.. Twinkie (on the RIGHT) is a hen... ;)

Parblue is when you have a yellowface Blue in which the yellow bleeds into the blue causing it to turn green. It is a patchy green with bits of blue showing through. There is two types a yellowface and a goldenface. You will hear a Parblue called a type II Yellowface. Goldenface is more a buttercup yellow.

Ah, so if it is kind of mixed up, where you see blue and green then it is a yellow face (or goldenface) parblue, but when there is just the one dominant "seafoam green" it does nto count as parblue?

yellowface type II parblue

yellow face blue - seafoam green - not parblue as the blue is not seen

Is that right Daz?

I would agree with Daz's choice. Pairing with Yodel would give you better frontal and mask, but Bingle has better size and stance.

Feathers.

When everyone has finished moulting and the weather warms up then Twinkie and Bingle will be going to the breeding cage! Thank you everyone for your help. ;)

I will have to try and find some more nice big hens too go with all my other boys

:( I read that three time as Twinkie on the LEFT!

okay I see Twinkie as green spangle, if the feathers under the wings are green it makes sense, they should be bluish if she was parblue.

Goldenface, Yellowface type 2 and type 1 are all part of the Parblue gene.
