Posted April 28, 200718 yr I think the mother is a dilute and the father is a dominant pied. Thanks for your help! :hap:
April 28, 200718 yr I think the parents are the hen is a sky blue greywing the cock is a green dominant pied greywing. I used this picture of them as well http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i203/tru...e3/DSC03961.jpg in that you can see both have grey throat spots. All the babies will be green unless the male is split for blue. 50% can be dominant pied 50% normals (the two oldest look to be pieds) all will be split for blue
May 26, 200718 yr 3 babies turned out white/blue and 2 are yellow/blue-green. They're 1 month & 1 week old now:
May 26, 200718 yr Those are the cutest toddler budgie photos! They are all so pretty. What a lovely surprise pakage they were. Feathers.
May 27, 200718 yr Thanks everyone! What does YF2 mean? Here's a picture of the father bird when he was a baby (5 years ago). He turned yellow when he got older.
May 27, 200718 yr It is when the yellow on the face bleeds into the chest and body. The more the molt the yellow will spread and become darker. There is yf1 where the yellow is restricted to just the face area only. He is gorgeous baby
May 27, 200718 yr What stunning pictures, thank you for showing us how they turned out. Your dad may look like a green bird but in fact is a blue bird. The two babies with yellow will end up looking like him. Are you keeping them all?
May 27, 200718 yr YF2 means Yellow Faced Type 2....& as Elly explains. And also thanks for following thru, with the later pictures makes it very intersting for us all. Edited May 27, 200718 yr by Norm
