New Aviary

Hey Everyone

I've just bought a much bigger and better aviary for my budgies. I've currently got a hen with 3 eggs (fertile) and one already hatched chick. Is it better to move them into the bigger cage now, or wait until the babies are grown up or at least hatched to avoid stressing out the hen?

Its best not to move any hens rearing or hatching. Let her finish and when the chicks are fledged put them in then. Meanwhile you can plan out the aviary and make it really nice for them.

Thanks Kaz, Will do

Were you going to put in all the birds plus the mom? Just wondering because colony breeding can be very dangerous to the parents and the chicks, something you might want to look into when you breed again :D. Just putting it out there. Glad you got your new aviary and look forward to pics.
