Hi Everyone.

 

I am new to the boards and have just introduced myself. I have had budgies for a long time and have been breeding for about 18 months now but I don't know much about mutations and colours.

 

Are my budgies the mutations and colours I have listed below?

 

 

Cinnamon: grey blue cinnamon

Maricruz: olive green greywing

Ty: normal cobalt blue

 

Ava and Theo have almost exactly the same markings (Theo is Ty and Ava's son). I think they are opaline blues?

 

Dawson: Green recessive pied

 

Please let me know if I need more pictures of any of them!

Hi Susannah, better pictures of them all would be helpful.

 

Cinnamon, if she has brown wing markings, looks like a skyblue cinnamonwing, if grey wing markings, she is a skyblue greywing

Maricruz looks like a Yellow Face type 2 Skyblue spangle

Theo looks like a cobalt opaline

Dawson looks like a green recessive pied

and the other two I can't see enough of to even guess

 

Can we get better pictures of them all? From that picture it is hard to even pick whether they are skyblues or cobalts.

I think you got them right except for Cinnamon and Maricruz and may be Dawson..

 

In my opinion, Cinnamon is a skyblue cinnamon, (possibly cobalt)

Maricruz is a yellowface 2 spangle (possible cinnamon as the wing markings looks cinnamon on my monitor, but that could just be my monitor...)

And Dawson, I think it's more of a goldenface recessive pied.

Agree with Cheeta- yf2 spangle for Maricruz

and maybe yf2 for Dawson as well he looks more aqua greenish which may actually be blue turned green by the yellow.

I think Cinnamon is more of a browny colour than a grey and I think Maricruz is more of a grey than a brown if that helps?

Ava is a skyblue opaline, again looks like she carries violet

Dawson looks like a goldenface skyblue recessive pied

I am still hovering between skyblue and cobalt for some of them ... probably too tired What does everyone else think or Nerwen, can you do the pantone colour strips

My thoughts are:

 

Ty is a cobalt normal, (don't think violet)

Ava is a skyblue opaline, but possible cobalt

Dawson looks like a goldenface skyblue recessive pied

Theo is a yellowface skyblue opaline (might be cobalt it's a bit hard to tell in that shot)

Maricruz is a Goldenface skyblue spangle

Cinnamon is a cobalt cinnamonwing (I say cobalt since cinnamon dilutes the colour slightly and I don't see the aqua/green tint that skyblues get)

 

I will do the colour lines tommorrow it's very late right now.
