Chico and Kiky are mating and I was wondering if soemone could do the calculation thing??

Chico, the father is a recessive pied light green cock and kiky, the mother an olive green recessive pied hen...

You will get 100% recessive pieds since this gene is recessive.

You will have 100% yellow based budgies unless BOTH parts are split for the blue gene.

There are always surprises with sex-linked genes so if the father is carrying an opaline, ino or other sex linked genes they may come out in the hens he has.

I know we have the coloration determine on Kiki, right now I believe possible dark green but not olive. Either way they will be gorgeous babies. :D. I did add more to your other post about their mutations.

so will the babies look more like kiky or chico??

Is there any way to tell?

They will be a mixture since they are both pied you never know how the pied markings will appear some have a lot and some don't :D, some may have a dark factors and some may not.

The surprise will be fun to see if you get any blues to see if they are both split or if the male has any hidden sex-linked genes :D.

okay, thanks guys. I was thinking of putting together cherry and Buddy in half a year. I know thats long but Im just so excited what the babies will look like.

Father: Buddy

yellowface type 2 cobalt blue opaline spangle

Mother: cherry

yellowface type 2 skyblue opaline cinnamonwing

can someone please do the percentage thing. *ill probably never learn it*

I don't do % myself but I can tell you different out comes of the chicks.

All the babies will be blue since this is a recessive gene.

50% spangle & 50% normal babies

All the babies will have a yellowface but if you get a white faced baby it would be considered a double factor yellow face

The male budgies will be split to cinnamon but you won't have any visual cinnamons unless the male is split for this gene and then all the babies cinnamons will be hens.

You will have 100% opaline babies (male and females)

Then there is always surprises in the nest from any sex-linked genes that the male could be split for that you don't know about such as ino etc..

BOYS:

6.25% Cobalt Opaline split Cinnamon

6.25% Skyblue Opaline split Cinnamon

12.5% YF Cobalt Opaline split Cinnamon

12.5% YF Skyblue Opaline split Cinnamon

6.25% DF YF Cobalt Opaline split Cinnamon

6.25% DF YF Skyblue Opaline split Cinnamon

6.25% Cobalt Opaline Spangle split Cinnamon

6.25% Skyblue Opaline Spangle split Cinnamon

12.5% YF Cobalt Opaline Spangle split Cinnamon

12.5% YF Skyblue Opaline Spangle split Cinnamon

6.25% DF YF Cobalt Opaline Spangle split Cinnamon

6.25% DF YF Skyblue Opaline Spangle split Cinnamon

HENS, exactly the same but not split cinnamon.

DF YF = double factor yellow face, these chicks will appear like normal white faced blues but all their chicks will carry the YF gene.

Considering both those budgies you are talking about still have baby bars down to the cere, half a year will still make them to young to breed. Suggest one year later. :D
