April 19, 200718 yr You have done SO WELL with your bubs Shawna, let me commend you !!! First of all, you didn't rush into it, you waited for a year and did research and knew what to expect (sort of, I know you were very concerned at different stages but you hung in there) and you procured them excellent homes. Kudos to you and my ultimate respect!
April 19, 200718 yr Author Thanks Phoebe. Yes, there were some bumps along the way but it was a truly enjoyable experiencing. Spending time every day watching these little ones develop has been so rewarding. I bred for selfish reasons - I wanted the experience but I tried to do what was best for the birds.
April 19, 200718 yr They look absolutely fantastic Shawna. Job well done and your photography is wonderful. I am really enjoying your photographs :budgiedance:
April 19, 200718 yr I still love baby 1 This little monkey is so sweet They all are.. so beautiful Feathers.
April 19, 200718 yr Awwww they are all soooo adorable. Just a question. Obviously it has to do with genes and colouration but why are some bubs beaks black and others yellow? Which colours would have the dark beak? That last picture is too cute, its like he is saying "look at my fat bolly!!!" hahah
April 19, 200718 yr Author Just a question. Obviously it has to do with genes and colouration but why are some bubs beaks black and others yellow? Which colours would have the dark beak? I don't know the answers to that question but.... I'm sure some of the more experienced breeders might have an idea. I would love to know myself. I've had both dark and light budgies have the black on their beaks. It does go away as the budgie gets older.
April 19, 200718 yr beautiful babys.enjoy this time with now.i have had 3 clutches of babys i have helped rear and throughly enjoyed the breeding and caring for the babies. i had babies with the black on the beaks this does disapear when babies are older.getting through the pin feather stage and guessing what colours they are going to be is the time i like best.
