I seen that you can give your bird cooked egg and eggshell crushed in with the egg. But how often would you feed your budgie this? :)

I feed my birds homemade eggfood about 3 times a week. I add to it, finesliced greens, grated carrot, and if its for the babies, they also get some budgie starter in it. For the adults they get some breadcrumbs in it too.

I use about 2 dozen eggs making my eggfood.....lots of birds !! over 200 budgies plus my husbands parrots. :D

:) I give it once a week (hopefully) but that's just me and all that time permits. Better than never I would suppose. :D

ive never fed eggfood before. SO you cook the egg, and mix the white part of the egg with the yellowpart and the crushed eggshell?? Then you let it cool down and you feed it right??

Is it good to take the crushed eggshell, because its so hard??

When i make mine i get a hard boiled egg, bread crumbs, bird seed, and my birds favourite veggies.

You microwaves the egg shell for about 2 mins and smash that into a fine powder. You add that to mashed hard boiled egg. Sprinkle some bread crumbs over the top just enough to spread right through the mix. Add a tablespoon or two of the budgies seed mix and then mix some finely chopped veggies in as well and stir it all together.

:D I neglected to mention that I just give fresh egg/eggshell to those of my birds that are laying eggs (not a breeder, it just happens here). The others get a prepared egg mix in their treat food once a week. :(

I have just given mine a mixture of oats, calcivet (calcium suppliment), whole boiled egg (blended shell and all), carrot and brocolli. I don't microwave the shell.

It doesn't last long.
