April 18, 200718 yr Author Thanks again! Looking at these photos I am thinking it's between the Brown Falcon and the Brown Goshawk. I have looked at photos of these before but the pics in the post above do look similar. I would try to take a photo but it is probably a bit tricky when you are jumping up and down!!! (Laughing out loud)! At least I haven't seen it tonight....yet!
April 18, 200718 yr Haha, okay! Yeah - I am thinking it would be the Brown Falcon more than any of the above! :hap: Hope you can scare the bugger off permanently!! Let us know how you go!! :hap:
April 19, 200718 yr Author Just thought I would add - it has been nearly 36 hours since I have seen the enemy! Hopefully that means he has given up and gone elsewhere! My twelve are dancing!!!! :budgiedance: :budgiedance: :budgiedance:
April 20, 200718 yr I have been having many difficulties within the past 6 months with Butcher birds. There have been 2 juveniles that are an olive/brown in colour and are not afraid of me. I get to within 2 metre's before they move about 10 metre's away. 1 has moved on but one remains and is as bold as ever. It was responsible for the death of my canary a couple weeks ago. I have identified it as a Grey Butcher bird - sounds like it could be your predator too: http://photos.rnr.id.au/2006/01/04/Butcher...060104-8781.jpg http://www2.abc.net.au/science/birds/asp/q...n=Display&id=76 "Juvenile Grey Butcherbirds are brown and buff in colour"
April 20, 200718 yr Author Thanks for those links Karen, but no it's not a Butcherbird. I know those. Well, it's been about 56 hours since I have seen this bird, so I am starting to relax a little. Hopefully he's gone for good! I hope your stubborn butcher bird moves on very soon Karen.
