Posted April 10, 200718 yr I dont know if you know about my chick Mammoth. She was the only chick born into the nest of Sloth and Gretta. Here is Sloth and Gretta Mammoth was big right from the start. She looked like a 5 day old when she was 2 days old and so on. But recently I kept finding her out of the nest at too young an age. As it turned out the parents were throwing her out and Mum Gretta was attacking her. So I put her in the nest of Curry and Laila ( Curry and Laila have 3 adopted babies in there as well as their own chicks ). So, Mammoth is doing very well. Is turning out to be a grey green spangle and a decent sized chick as well. Here she is today trying to find her legs :ausb: and having a cuddle she is two and a half weeks old Edited April 26, 200718 yr by Kaz

April 10, 200718 yr Just wondering Kaz - were any of the parents big? Just difficult to tell size from photo
April 10, 200718 yr Author Just wondering Kaz - were any of the parents big? Just difficult to tell size from photo Dad is rather large. BUT he has no tail. He is from very good bloodlines. Mum is not huge but she stands very straight on the perch which is a good thing to breed into a bird. She looks bedraggled in the picture but is a nice bird.
April 10, 200718 yr I gotta say that is one decent size chick, she is a lovely colour and being a spangle tops it off. Cool Banana Karen
