okay in this picture it's all blue but he has browny purple below (does that make sense??)

if you see brown it most likely is female, it looks female to me in the picture.

Are we looking at the same picture??? Looks 100% male to me. :bluebudgie:

in his post he said brown so that is why I say that (Laughing out loud) but my screen it looks femalish though but certainly could be male :bluebudgie:

On my screen the cere is blue.

Thanks everyone for your replies :)

This is what I mean about the cere being a bit browny purple. Around the nostrils is definately blue..

Here it's browny purple (not just brown)...........

Now with a female the cere changes from pink to a lightish blue and the brown starts showing here (I think). Is this right? Or there would be two white rings around the nostrils?

So therefore even though there is a slight tinge of browny purple this still looks all male to me :)

It's always been difficult for me to see the difference but I do have an untrained eye - so trying to get it right :ausb:

A female never has blue that deep. A female will have a very white looking pale blue. :) You've got a male.

Thanks Bea.... that means I am eventually starting to get it right - well, sometimes :)

I will go with Bea I am seriously this cere doesn't look blue it looks pinkish :)

Looks blue to me too. Maybe it's time to calibrate your monitor, Elly?
