Posted April 7, 200718 yr I work at a bird sanctuary and we have 2 tiels that have been there for a couple months now. They aren't tame. They may have been tame at some point, but I'm really not sure. I've considered bringing them home with me, but since I have my 2 budgies, I'm curious how well budgies and tiels typically get along. The tiels would be in their own cage obviously, but if I wanted to let them out for flight time all together, is that a possibility?
April 7, 200718 yr Shouldn't be too much of a problem. I let my tiels and budgies out together. At first they were a little wary and one of the tiels (Bailee) has a total fit if one of the budgies comes near him (just a lot of noise, no biting). The other tiel (Cookie) is the object of Blinkie's affections a lot of the time and loves hanging out with the budgie boys. Ozzie mostly just ignores them unless he's feeling cheeky and decides to pull their tail or crest. If you were around to supervise i doubt you'd have many problems.
April 7, 200718 yr I have seen a lot of budgies and tiels get along but before you bring them home you said they were not tamed. Where you planning on working on taming them? If not that is okay, I was curious in the fact that all the tiels I have seen with budgies are also tamed too. Edited April 7, 200718 yr by Elly
