I worm my breeding stock if I have to, but I do it via crop needle. That way the dose is exact and delivered to each bird, knowing they have got their correct dosage. I would only dose a baby if I knew for sure the dosage was correct and they were the right size and bodyweight for the dosage. Also some wormers are better than others. I have heard of one called Gentle Wormer I think it was. A show breeder I know uses it for all his birds without ill effects.

Hommer get some Aloe Vera. 115gm in 1 leter of water for 24hours.

Tip 500mls in a container and add 500mls. Top up the container with the Aloe in it. Use this as the water for two weeks. If you have left the skin on, it acts as a wormer and laxitive. Keep it in the fridge. You can try it to. Works like a tonic to us as well. Cheaper that the stuff you buy in the health food stores.

The enzimes will help the birds as well.

One batch will last 14 days. You can't overdose the birds or the chicks.

The droppings should turn black, as they should allways be, and the birds will be more active and loader.

I've been doing this for the last three weeks. 5 chicks in one nest, the oldest is 9 days today. no problems.

That's a great idea Daz.. I didn't know that they work as wormer and laxative. Now with the aloe vera, you said that to leave the skin on right? But do I cut them into smaller pieces? I have lots of aloe vera that I can use, so I'll definitely give it a try for all my birds. I'm assuming that 115gm will make 2 litres of the 'aloe water', from how you described it. Is that correct? Just want to make sure that I have it right. ^_^

Thanks Daz. B)

B) well sounds good but I'm begin attract from all sides

one I have red mites

two I have scale face

three I have worms.

I have attacked the mites with a pesticide

and I have treated the birds infected with scaly face with a solution

and now I'm using a worm formula from a pet shop.

the reason is I had a blue red beak parrot land on my avarices about 2 weeks ago and it was infested with red mites.

also I have had Rosella's on my aviary witch may have had other pests on them.

my birds were looking sick and I took on a program which involved cleaning everyday and spraying for mites and worming.

I am thankfull for all your advice and will look at any other medicine that will solve the problem.

well by for now and all the best. ^_^

I just hope my babies will survive the chemical onslaught :D
