look at all that green isn't is just beautiful Kaz :) I know you had to add more green. They are all looking wonderful and looking forward to see how big Mammoth gets.

I love them all, but must admit to be a bit fuzzy chop biased. Mammoth is huge. I had a cuddle yesterday and I would never have guessed how young he was by the size of him.

****QUESTION>>>?? If Curry and Laila have produced DF Spangles before and seems to be one in the nest maybe...does that mean Texas Clearbody can hide a spangle gene ?

Edited by Kaz

They are cute cute :)

okay I am not sure I will get your question answered correctly so I will just work out what I understand.

Texas Clearbody is when the body feathers are diffused or absent so it wouldn't have anything to do with the wing markings. If anything the DF spangle could cover up the Texas Clearbody if that is possible because then there are no wing markings. Remember clearbodies have normal wing markings. Make sense? Clearbodies can also have a 50% dilution where the coloration then becomes stronger near the vent of the bird. It is also sex-linked gene so the hen could not hide it but the cock can. I think that is as clear as mud to me too :)

Mammoth was out of the nest 3 times today and the last time I put it back in, I heard screeching in there and it seems Mum was trying to attack the baby, so I have removed Mammoth and put it in the nest of a good pair of parents...Curry and Laila. I will check shortly and make sure it has been fed.

:budgiedance: No, poor "little" baby. I hope he is okay in with Curry and Laila.

I just checked and is well and fed. Crop full.

Wow do you think he is getting shoved out because he is so big?

When you find the answer about the genetics question you asked please post :budgiedance:.

Hard to say :budgiedance: he is the only chick. That may have something to do with it. I don't know really. He was in a very large nestbox so parents had room to start again. But he or she is in with Curry and Lailas brood and they are good parents.

Well then maybe he is just going to be adventurous since the nesting box is big and I didn't think mom and dad was shoving him out a better explanation of what I meant :budgiedance: would have been pushed out because there wasn't enough room. He is a doll.

foxy and 'H' always escaped from their nest box they were about 3 weeks old. misty and leicester had 3 babies.so i used to take out foxy and H for play time and put them back to make sure they are being fed.it gave their little sibling some time to catch up but they started to play with millet and then realised it was food then i was hand feeding them seed.misty was always pleased to see them back and put them in line.the baby picture pics are so cute.

Unfortunately its not the baby coming out on its own. In this case the parent is throwing it out of the nest, so I had to remove the chick to a foster parent or risk it possibly being killed. :budgiedance:

So Mammoth is being kicked out? Maybe it is because of his size, if it is him.

Aww thanks Kazza!!! I wish i lived near you SOOOO BADLY!!! I would do all the work in the aviary if i had to, just to take Chilli home :budgiedance: Wow hes stunning! This is my 4th time on here looking at his pics  (Laughing out loud)

Is spangle dominant? So you either are visually spangle, or your not? That is very cool though that they had one before!!! Maybe it was a DEC?!?!
