April 4, 200718 yr I don't know if there is an age limit for showing birds? Interesting question. the average age range for males to be bred with is between 1-6 years. Hen 1-3 year.
April 4, 200718 yr Na budgies are like a good wine the older they get the better they are only joking I would say from 1 to 6 years
April 5, 200718 yr There is no age limit to showing. You will have to check that you can show a bought bird. In most areas of Australia this is not allowed and you can only show birds that are breed by you. Hath can advise you of the ruling in England.
April 5, 200718 yr In showing birds they are classed in their colour type and then further classed as an ADULT or YOUNG or UBC ( unbroken cap or baby ), so within ADULT class there is no further clarification needed for exact age. Also as a novice in show breeding within a club you can usually show bought in birds for up to a year. As Daz states this can vary between states of Australia.
April 5, 200718 yr It does differ between states. Here we have Nest feathers, Young Birds and Old birds. Sometimes we also have any age. Young birds differ on the hatch date. At the monment I think it is 1st July 06. After that date they become old birds.

At the National in Adelaide.

It has already been voted and passed that the ring date be moved to the 1st Sept and now they want to change it before it comes in. Don't know what to think about that.
