Hi peoples, not long ago you helped me sex a bird for an old friend and that was a big help, it was a creamino.

Well the same lady had 3 of these creamino's and she kindly offered me one, for free hows that hey.

It is a nice size bird and I think she said it was about one to one and a half years old.

So here is some photos, hope someone can help.

Ta for that Nerwen, i've put him in with a female, so i'll guess i'll see what happens or doesn't happen

Neat your 100% correct Luntino, albino males don't get the blue cere like others.

Thanks again,

so the white bits on the nostrils would indicate it was a girl if it was under 12 months old

or even younger is that correct. How long do you wait if its got white on the cere in identifying it as a boy.

Ta again

If it was a girl her cere would be more tan around the 4-6 month mark because it is such a nice pink and the bird is over a year it would be boy. Pretty has nasal ring boys can the key too is the coloration of the pink vs pinkish whitish. Hope that makes sense.

Here is a picture of Pretty and you can see his nasal rings

Thanks for the info Elly

Looks like a male to me. Jewel is a creamino hen and her cere doesn't look like that. I'd love to get my hands on a creamino male. Best of luck breeding the two.

To clarify Paul if the bird was under 3 months and hadn't moulted for the first time and the cere was textured and had the nassal rings i'd say Hen.

If the bird's cere was smooth and no nassal ring i'd say Cock.

You can use this proccess from about 21 days old. I'm am usually 75% right with the birds in front of me. But some are difficult.

Ta Daz, as this bird was given to me. I'm don't no the history.

I put it with a hen but so far there is not one bit of interest shown in either bird.
