Help Needed Pair Bonding-

Featured Replies

Hiya.

Just wanted to know if making my pair bond is fair? kinda like arranged marriage?

I have a male and female or within breeding conditions they have been a a cage together by themselves for 2 days now I am guessing it may take 1 - 2 weeks for them to bond if they do ....

Or should I put them back in the bigger cage with the other 5 and see what happens.. IT's just that my older males like the younger females and leave the 2 older female alone???

any help please

Show breeder ALWAYS pick the pair they want to match up to get the best chicks (they hope) so there is no reason you can't pick the future happy couple. If you don't feel like doing that then you can let them all get together (as long as quantine is over) to match up as they want.

Budgies don't mate for life and it takes 10 or more days for the bond to be forgotten and a new one started when paired up (if bonded with another before hand)
