Posted April 2, 200718 yr I wasn't sure whether to put this one in food and nutrition or behaviour! Do your birds go crazy after eating a particular thing? Beaker is showing a predeliction for bok choy. She goes crazy for it and after it. She chats, flips about, runs in circles, bobs her head, flaps her wings and generally goes nuts :budgiedance: about five minutes after eating it (which she does rabidly). The only problem is, she gets really really *bitey*, which she has never done before. She'll yell at you and tell you off ordinarily, but after bok choy she will chomp down on any fingers in the vicinity! In saying that, we're using bok choy now as a treat to try to coax her into being a little bit more personable, so we'll see how that changes things. Any other magical budgie foods out there?
April 2, 200718 yr Mine jump on snow pea sprouts the instant i put it anywhere near them. Blinkie is sometimes psychic and will just know when i'm going to the fridge to get some and will fly over, jump on it as i get it out of the container, roll on it as i wash it and then eat it when i peg it up on the cage. :budgiedance: Ozzie, Fizzy, Cookie and Bailee all prefer bok choy to snow pea sprouts, but both veggies are favourites.
April 13, 200718 yr Haha! Gues who is going to have broccoli next? Haha! Yoda goes berko for whatever we are eating at the time.. We only share the vegies! Otherwise, he zips over and steals some! haha! Cosmo is starting to want what we are having too.. But we try not to eat infront of him (he shares our study and bedroom - where we try not to eat in these rooms!).
April 13, 200718 yr Eucalyptus leaves, my lot get so excited when they arrive fresh in the aviary. And then get to work, nibbling the leaves and stripping the branches! Just like catnip for a cat!!!
