Posted March 31, 200718 yr I have some pot plants across the front of my aviary and I guess some seed has landed in them as I have about 6 plants that are producing lovely big seed heads on them, definetly millet! I was wondering is there any benefit from feeding "fresh" as opposed to the dried stuff that I occasionally buy? I am also thinking of deliberately planting some of the bird seed and see what else comes up! Not a great photo but here is the millet. I always knew there would be advantages to being a lazy gardener! Edited March 31, 200718 yr by budgie_addict
March 31, 200718 yr I don't know about any differance to freah or dry but mine love it both ways. only thing with growning your own is the bugs that come along too to watch out for. I got HEAPS of red bugs and also tiny black ones that dig in between the seeds and they are hard to remove.
March 31, 200718 yr are you sure it is millet, it would worry me but them I am not an expert on plants .
March 31, 200718 yr Yes...thats millet. I grow it too. I throw my birds discard seeds into a pot and the garden and we grow our that way too. The birds love it
