My budgies are called Sunflower - F: Yellow with white spots on cheeks. (Breeder Bird),

Jungle - M: Olive Green & Yellow with Yellow head, has black patches under chin. (Breeder Bird),

Meadow - F: Lime Green & Yellow with Yellow head,

Rainbow - M: Blue/Grey with Green/Yellow wings and Yellow cheeks (I think may be opaline),

Ocean - M: Blue with grey/white wings,

Sky - M: White with Turquoise cheeks and some turquoise on lower back. (Breeder Bird),

Skylark - F: White & Blue with some black in wings,

Ice - F: Grey with White Head and Wings,

Crystal - F: Turqoise with Grey/white wings,

and Cloud - F: White with little grey patches on wings and some grey lower back. Will be adding pictures later in the week.

Would Cloud & Rainbow and Sky & Sunflower make nice coloured babies? I haven't added nesting boxes but they have paired together.

:)

the pictures would help a lot more to working out the gene and what bubs would appear. It sounds like Cloud might be recessive pied, rainbow could be a yellowface(type one) mauve.

Turquoise isn't a colour for budgies, so either Sky is a sky blue (which gets a slight green look to it) or a yellowface type 2.

Once there are pictures it's easier to say.

 Please visit the following web page to see pictures of my birds for identification. I have discovered that Sunflower has Red Eyes. :)

Thank you for that

Sunflower - Lutino

Jungle - Greygreen Normal

Meadow - Green could be opaline, if the wings are marked with green then she is.

Rainbow - Yellowface Cobalt Normal (could be type 2)

Ocean - Cobalt Normal

Sky - Dominant Pied Cobalt (I think he is Double Factor)

Skylark - Dominant Pied Cobalt

Ice - I think she is Violet Opaline

Crystal - Sky blue Normal

Cloud - Yellowface Cobalt Recessive Pied, possible spangle.

Cloud & Rainbow:

Yellow face normals (like Rainbow)/ recessive pied

and blue normals ( like Ocean)/ recessive pied

Rainbow would need to be carrying (split) for the recessive gene for any babies to appear like Cloud

Sky & Sunflower:

Dominant Pied Greens/ blue

Males will be split for Ino.

If sky is carrying (split) the Ino gene then you can get some babies like Sunflower

If sunflower is split blue you can get

Dominant pied blues as well.
