Just a quick note that this morning, the fifth day after her splint was removed, she is using her leg even more. Seems like she is definitely building up strength and while she may never bee 100%, she will certainly have enough strength that she should be able to live a long and healthy life.

I also missed this last time and my aplogies - I have a budgie that had his leg caught in the cage door and suffered the same damage. When he first did it I thought his leg was dead, but after several weeks and several splints (he kept pulling them off silly boy) his leg is as good as new. To look at him now you wouldn't believe that it had ever happened.
