I just got back from the Sunshine Coast Day and to say I had a good time would be an understatement.

3 birds entered.

Novice Class

Recessive Pied Penalised for a short tail. :bluebudgie: I kind of knew that but hoped the judge would miss it, He didn't.

Spangle Opaline Grey Green Hen - 1st in her class.

Spangle Light Green Cock - 1st in his class.

They then fought it out for best spangle. he won.

He then went up for Best Cock.. He won.

He then went for best young bird.. He won.

Over all

He then went against all the young birds in Novice, Intermediate & Open. .. He Won

He then went against all the best birds for Champion of Show.. He Missed it.

So I received....

Best Spangle Hen - Novice

Best Spangle Cock - Novice

Best Spangle - Novice

Best Young Bird - Novice

Champion Young Bird of Show

A very Enjoyable Day and a very tired some day......

A very warm a speciel thanks to Dave Ganzer, President of the SQBBA and for all his assistance, and the members of the Pine Rivers Budgerigar Society for all their support.

Thanks guys. When they won best Spangle cock and hen (novice) that was enough for me. I rang Trish and said "Put a bottle of Sparkling in the fridge, we are Celebrating tonight" but then they went up against each other for best spangle (novice) I rang and asked if we have two bottles  .

Then he went up against all the other cocks and won I rang and said " Put two bottles in the fridge" She laughed.

The strangest feeling, I was sooooo nervous when he was being judged. But when he was on the front bench being judged for the top positions, I was no longer nervous. David Ganzer came up and was so excited and asked why I wasn't. I was happy just to get Best Spangle Cock and Hen (novice) all the rest was a dream win. But to be awarded Champion Young Bird of Show... It was like I had made it and all the work over the past few weeks had paid off. The nerves were gone and the euphoria was there. It is a great feeling.

The Show team is in the stock cage winding down. It's a bit like Elvis was before he died. I build the team up for the show and then bring them down. Unlike Elvis, I don't use drugs but good food. They got plenty of hi carbs in the water, Protein in a small dish. vegitables and rest for a few days alone before going back to the flights.

As for me, it's 7:30am and my head hurts a bit from the Sparkling last night. :ausb: ;)

Wonderful and congrats Daz on your winning today :glare:
