:) Finished by midday Sunday Daz, if not sooner. I believe Queensland birds are used to warmer weather :D

Looks great!!

Sorry if this has been asked before, but is permapine okay for budgies, or will they not be able to get to it? (Or is that not permapine?)

The pine poles are treated pine but AGED. However, every pine pole I am using will be wrapped with spare aviary wire so the birds cannot chew it. Even when the birds were in the aviaries with the treated pine poles they never chewed it ever, BUT I just dont want to take the chance.

Ah okay, that's good to hear because I think treated pine and horizontal galv make really good "Australiana" looking aviaries!!

Newly built smaller aviary is very nearly finished. I shall be able to put birds in there in the morning tomorrow. I have to make the safety door later in the afternoon, but it looks really good right now and ready for birds to go in. :(

Kaz, your aviary work is so impressive, so many members who are reading through this thread are going to have great ideas on how to get their aviary started and completed. Good job and I know Ken you are doing so much of the work you both are ingenius.

Great Job Kaz can;t see the finished product :(

Here is the new smaller aviary my husband and I built ( mostly I did it :) ) . I have put the spare cocks and hens in there so far, and later after Dave helps me split ring Omelettes babies they will go in there too.

:) Still have some finishing touches to tidy up and complete but top priority was to see the birds in a bigger space again.

that looks great . umm when are you coming to build my aviary ? :)

It'd absolutely amazing Kaz! Congratulations!

I LOVE it Kaz! I'm green with envy! I can't convert my old cat run into an aviary until later this year when I recover from paying for our new lounge tomorrow  . I'll have collected plenty of ideas from you and others by then though! :) ..... :budgiedance:

Very nice Kaz... Still looking forward to seeing the main one. :)
